Darius was often overwhelmed by people but he was drawn to them too. Isolation, to the degree he had endured, caused a certain amount of reluctance to leave isolation. His early interactions with others, like most of his project, were detrimental to the other people, deadly often enough. He had always tried to refuse injuring others but he was rarely permitted to make that choice. More recently, his interactions gave him hope and a desire to peer out of isolation. Blame his brother, maybe, who plunged headlong into everything that he had been denied. Darius saw the happiness that grew from new experiences. Darius was not as reckless and far more calculating than his younger sibling. To be fair, as a doctor his sibling had more positive interactions with others even if there were vast times of darkness in his life.

His mind was milling around on these thoughts while walking toward a busier part of the plaza. It was early evening and people were out and about with friends or on errands. He had no idea how to start a conversation or introduce himself to strangers. Even here he felt like he stuck out like, what had the humans called it, a sore thumb. Too tall. Too lanky and in this lighting his golden eyes revealed their tapetum lucidum. The structure caused eyeshine and allowed him, like animals, to see more clearly in dim and dark light.

He took a page from his brother's mentality and stepped up to the first person that appeared unoccupied and had paused in their movement. "If you never had a chance to live a life, where would you suggest starting?"

That question, blurted out, was a testament to where he was trapped. Darius had no idea where to start.
